Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Request

Dependent students must provide parental data on the FAFSA in order to determine financial aid eligibility. If you failed to provide this information initially, you may submit it at https://studentaid.gov/.

The only exception is for students whose parents do not support them and refuse to complete a FAFSA. When filling out the FAFSA, you can answer “Yes” to Question #8: Apply for a Direct Unsubsidized Loan Only. In addition, submit the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Request for Dependent Students without Parental Data on FAFSA 2024-2025 form and documentation which can be requested via Student Forms. If approved, the student can only be awarded the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan.

In order to submit a request, please follow the insructions below:

  • ALL students must first create a Student Forms account. Please click on Student Forms for information on how to set up your account.
  • Once you are logged in you, start by navigating to the ‘Request’ button at the top right of the screen. From there click on the green plus sign next to the document and correct academic year. This will allow you to add a request as a task for you to complete.
  • You can Download then upload the “Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Request for Dependent Students without Parental Data on FAFSA 2024-2025” form once you filled it out and gathered the requested signed statement from your parent(s).

All information regarding the request is within Student Forms. If you have any questions please contact our office for assistance.
